Independent Non-Executive Director

Term of office: Appointed to the Board on 1 July 2005. Lord Patten is standing for re-election in 2006 at the first Annual General Meeting since his appointment.

Skills and experience: Lord Patten's distinguished career in public office enables him to brings a great deal of experience and expertise to the Board, especially in the area of international relations, which is valuable to a Group that has a presence in almost every country in the world.
