Investis CEO Justin Walters declares himself “pleased” with the agency's progress this year. He says the market has been good, clients have matured and the agency's roster of niche listed companies has grown.
Specialising in creating sites for listed companies to communicate with the media, investors and employees, Investis has grown from its original roots in pure investor relations services.
This year it has launched an online press office for clothing brand Benetton, a corporate site for Stagecoach and National Express, and a site for Shell, explaining the oil company's new structure to shareholders.
Investis also created a corporate site for Bradford &
Bingley. The agency handled the design and build of the site to
meet two accessibility standards.
Walters feels that the agency's big challenge now is that it's a
specialist in a market full of generalists. “It's hard to get
people to see the benefit of a specialist,” he complains.
Investis is planning a raft of marketing and sales activity to get over this issue, in an attempt to sell its services to listed companies. “We're growing again and are leading in what we do. We just need to shout about ourselves more,” says Walters.
Backing up this claim, the agency clients won in seven out of ten categories at the IR Best Practice Website Awards 2005. It was also placed 79th in last year's Sunday Times Tech Track 100. Further expansion is now planned by the agency, including new product offerings such as video online.
“We're looking at the use of video on corporate sites and for internal communications,” says Walters. “Employees are always using a company's corporate site to find out things about their employer and there is an opportunity for better communications using video.”
