In the year, the underlying number of items dispensed increased by 5.2%.
Counter transactions were up 3.0% helped by extended opening hours. Subtracting the effect of new stores, like for like transactions were up 1.5%.
This performance continues the trend seen in the first half and is a reversal of a long term decline in customer numbers.
Average transaction value grew slightly at £9.21.
Average weekly footfall grew by 2.4% to 19.8 million visitors each week.
