Call for Nominations
The Prize is open to scientists of all nationalities who
work in institutional settings and are not affiliated with a pharmaceutical
company.

Nominations may only be submitted by an international society or
organization invited to nominate candidates and self-nominations will not be
considered.

The deadline for nominations for the 2007 award is December 31, 2006.

The winner will be announced in September 2007.
Award regulation
The prize
The Arrigo Recordati International Prize for Scientific Research is awarded
every two years to a scientist who has shown special distinction in the area
of cardiovascular disease or the study of biochemical mechanisms of
particular importance in the same therapeutic field.
Each edition is devoted to a specific theme in the cardiovascular
therapeutic field. The Prize is open to researchers of all nationalities who
are not in any case directly affiliated with pharmaceutical companies.
The Prize winner receives a sum of 100,00 Euros.

The theme
The 2007 edition of the Prize, a lifetime achievement award will be awarded
to a scientist who achieved distinction in the field of Ischemic Heart
Disease, including Interventional Cardiology.

Selection procedures
The candidates will be selected on the basis of nominations by top
international experts drawn from the area of ischemic heart disease,
including interventional cardiology.
The nominations will be submitted for consideration to the Judging Panel,
who will meet to consider the candidates and name the winner.

Nomination procedures
Nominations have to be decided and proposed by scientific societies and
organizations invited to submit their candidates.
Each nominator is allowed to submit more than one nominee for the Award.
Self nominations will not be considered.
Nominations will be sent in electronic format, through the dedicated website
www.recordati.com/prize thanks to a password assigned to scientific
societies invited to nominate.
The deadline for nominations of the fourth edition of the Prize is December
31, 2006.
The information received is held strictly confidential. Only those involved
in the Prize selection procedure have access to the material submitted. The
Judging Panel requires the same discretion by those making nominations.

Announcement of the winner
The winner will be notified with an official letter following the Judging
Panel decision and will be invited to give a lecture during the Gala
Ceremony.

Award ceremony
The winner of the Prize will be announced in September 2007 and will be
celebrated during a gala ceremony scheduled in Vienna, during the European
Society of Cardiology Congress 2007.
